Today we discussed the questions: What is soil? What is soil made from?

At Forest school we looked at samples of soil and talked about what we could see in the soil: organic matter, rocks, twigs and living creatures.

We talked about the four processes involved in soil formation and agreed that all four processes can happen at the same time!

We even created our own mini compost bins using worms and organic matter. We are looking forward to seeing how the worms break down the organic matter and transform it into compost over the next few weeks.

We even had time to explore forest school and choose our own activities to do. Lots of team work and communication were evident. We were even treated to a music concert complete with dancers!
