Investigating properties of materials.

In Science we are looking at properties and changes of Materials. We discussed materials we could see around the classroom and stated why each materials was chosen for a specific purpose. We identified natural and man made materials and gave examples.

In groups we played the material properties definition game. For each definition we have a real life example. E.g permeable- a Kitchen towel soaks up water.

Outside at Forest school we took part in a game with feely bags. Each group was given a feely bag and one person had to feel inside the bag and describe the properties of the object for their friends to guess.

It was a really good opportunity to use key scientific words about materials such as: hard, smooth, rough, soft, flexible, permeable etc.
