Today we analysed and discussed the painting, ‘Starry Night’ by Van Gogh. We discussed the use of colour and texture. We also delved into the painting with the help of a VR YouTube clip – this was fascinating!
After learning about Van Gogh’s life and his inspiration for painting we went outside and created our own Natural ‘Starry Night’ pictures using nature.
As you can see our artwork is very eye-catching and uses a variety of natural colours and textures.

We also investigated techniques of using chalks. Created hard and soft lines whilst also merging colours by smudging and blending them.
We are really pleased with our final ‘Starry Night’ inspired chalk pictures.
