Today at Forest School we were set the challenge to make a boat to race.  In groups we explored streamlined shapes and conducted our own mini -investigation about which shapes fall fastest.  We then discussed the best shape, for our boat design, to minimise the effect of water resistance.

Using the junk modelling materials we created our boat.  Each team named and decorated their boat ready for the race.  Each boat was timed to see how long it would take to cross the water tray.  Children discussed how they could minimise the effects of water resistance in their boat design.
