A splashing good time!

Today we had a splashing good time at Forest School! On our route to Forest School we were set a challenge to splash in as many puddles as possible.  We loved our challenge!

Some children had spotted a frog, at lunchtime, living in a hole of a tree trunk.  We all carefully looked at the frog whilst discussing why the frog had chosen this particular spot to hide in.  The children all agreed it was a good hiding place from predators and kept the frog sheltered.  In the reading hut we discussed why our waterproof coat keeps us dry and thought about other materials and their properties.  We discussed the best type of material to make an umbrella with.

In Forest school Mrs Marples set us a challenge to make a waterproof den that we could shelter from the rain in.  This involved team work, co-operation and selecting the right materials.
